You need to have the cash to shoulder the expenses of transportation, the salary of the crew and actors and actresses, the purchasing or renting of cameras, microphones and editing equipment, and even the manufacturing of marketing collaterals, such as posters and newspaper adverts.
2. Crew and Talent
There are a lot of people involved in the making of a film. However, the key players are the director, producer, talent, editor, cinematographer, cameramen, and assistants. It is important that you are able to work with credible individuals, which means that you need to have a screening process first before you start hiring. For instance, actors and actresses must first audition and undergo a screen test to check if they are suited for a certain role. You should also hire a creative script writer in order to be able to make a saleable motion picture. If necessary, you should also hire people in charge of the aesthetics, namely hair and make-up artists, and set and costume designers. There are also instances where a scene needs a crowd shot, which means you should hire extras.
