At first glance, the two may look the same but they are actually very different.
Plasma screens create images by precisely charging a matrix of plasma cells. They are known to provide a better contrast than their counterpart does. In addition, they are better when it comes to fast-moving scenes. Probably the biggest advantage of this type of equipment is its price. However, since they are not available in smaller models, you will need to have a larger budget.
On the other hand, LCD monitors contain liquid crystals that are pressed in between two glasses. A varying amount of electricity is then charged onto the crystals to create images. When considering quality, plasma displays give the better value. Furthermore, since they come in smaller models, they can be a good choice if you have a limited budget.
The best thing about these technologies is that they are still very young, so they still have a lot of room for development. For instance, a new version of LCD called LED has recently made its début on the market. These new displays are famous for reducing the gap between the different types when it comes to quality.
